Répertoire International de Littérature Musicale (RILM) is a comprehensive music bibliography serving the global music research community. Today RILM has over 500,000 records in 215 languages from 151 countries.
RILM is committed to promoting cultural understanding through the dissemination of knowledge about music research. Our principal focus is RILM Abstracts of Music Literature, a comprehensive, ever-expanding online database that covers all types of publications worldwide related to music research—defined broadly—on all genres of music, in all languages. In addition to detailed verified bibliographic information, entries in the database are enhanced with abstracts that summarize the item's content, searchable keywords, and indexing based on carefully researched authority tables. RILM's global commitment also extends to the conferences we host and to our print publications, which include reference works and specialized bibliographies.
