Danijela Kulezic-Wilson Book Prize

The Danijela Kulezic-Wilson Book Prize, inaugurated in January 2022, has been established to recognise outstanding musicological scholarship among members of the Society for Musicology in Ireland as part of the Society’s aims to foster musical scholarship in all its forms. Named in memory of the distinguished Ireland-based Serbian musicologist Danijela Kulezic-Wilson, who passed away in 2021, the prize of €300 is awarded biennially for a musicological monograph authored or co-authored by a member of the SMI.

The prize is being adjudicated for the first time by mid 2022 by a panel of three judges; the award will formally be made at the SMI's annual plenary conference in the summer of 2022.

Queries may be sent to the Book Prize Committee at bookprize@musicologyireland.com

To nominate or self-nominate a monograph, please complete the nomination form with details of the book along with a supporting statement outlining why it should be considered for the prize. The closing date is Friday 28 January. Once nominations have been validated, nominators will be invited by the committee to submit their entry. Both PDF and hardcopies are acceptable but in the case of the latter, nominators will arrange, through the committee, to submit a copy of the book to each of the three judges directly. The SMI will not undertake the purchase or cost of postage for hardcopies.
