In the extraordinary circumstances at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Society for Musicology in Ireland held its 14th annual postgraduate conference as a special postgraduate digital conference online on 22 January 2021, jointly hosted by the Irish National Committee of the International Council for Traditional Music.
In addition to contributions by current postgraduate students, this one-day event, held in memory of our colleague, Dr David Connolly, who had passed away in April 2020, featured music performances from Maynooth University and Dundalk Institute of Technology (two institutions with which David had been particularly closely associated), and a keynote address by Nicole Grimes (Associate Professor at Claire Trevor School of the Arts, University of California, Irvine).
