The 6th Annual Plenary Conference of the SMI was hosted by the Department of Creative and Performing Arts, Waterford Institute of Technology, on 9-11 May 2008.
The keynote speaker was Professor John Tyrrell (Cardiff University), whose lecture was entitled 'Pidgeon holes and politics: Janáček’s anniversaries’.
